North Star Writers Group has been serving American newspapers with opinion and feature material since December 2005.
In 2011, North Star decided to focus its efforts more closely on its own backyard, recruiting a highly skilled group of Michigan-based writers so as to provide Michigan-focused material to newspapers throughout the state. In addition to this group, we continue to syndicate three out-of-state contributors with a national focus, including current presidential candidate Herman Cain, whose columns we have syndicated since 2006.
Our writers represent all points on the political spectrum – from left to right – but all are independent thinkers who are committed to honest, serious commentary, rather than partisan rhetoric.
The focus of North Star material is on policy substance and its real effect on readers, rather than the horse-race, insider-baseball type coverage that typically comes from political writers – who write for their sources as much as for real-life readers.
