Get in bed with Rand Paul, wake up with Alex Jones
Dan Calabrese
Rand Paul was supposed to go on Meet the Press today, but he canceled that appearance when it started to become clear that he was ill-prepared to handle tough questions about his doctrinaire libertarian positions on issues.
But there’s one show where Rand Paul feels right at home.
Paul is not only the “darling of tea partiers” as the mainstream media keeps reminding us. He is also the darling of 9/11 conspiracy nut Alex Jones, who rants on about globalists, fascism and all kinds of other insanity.
If you’re a fan of Alex Jones, well . . . do you sleep with that tinfoil hat on? If you’re unfamiliar with him, you might want to check out his YouTube Channel. My favorite is the one about how the globalist forces are going to attack and eliminate 90 percent of the world’s population.
At any rate, Rand Paul is a regular guest on Jones’s radio show, and Jones continually refers to Paul and his father as the real deal, those rare politicians who embrace the worldview of Alex Jones and would govern in accordance with it.
On Friday, I wrote a column defending Paul from media implications that he is a racist. I still think that defense was warranted. But in that column, I warned of the danger when you take ideological principle to ridiculous extremes. One of those dangers is that you end up getting embraced by – and perhaps embracing – complete lunatics like Alex Jones.
Those of you who are simply troubled by the creeping growth of the state, I can understand that. And if you’re attracted to Rand Paul and his father because they speak out against said creep, I can understand that too – on the surface. But you have to recognize that such dalliances often have a dark side, and in the case of Rand Paul, you simply can’t ignore the reality that Kentucky Republicans have just nominated a guy who’s afraid to go on Meet the Press, but is right at home on the Alex Jones Show.
This is not good. Take a look at one of Paul’s appearances with Jones.

Maybe a tin foil hat is what you need Dan, take a look in the mirror lol…but seriously; let’s not resort to defamatory comments regarding ones right to question anything one wants too. Isn’t this a fundamental part of the reason America was founded…sorry I’ll correct myself, YES IT IS!!!
Oh yeah one last thing Dan…Alex, Rand, Ron and anyone else that can see through the blatant propaganda that comes out of the mass media and it’s politically contrived (or should I say corporately condoned) so called journalism, should be praised for telling it how they see it whether you agree or not. What’s that saying; ignorance is no excuse. In the not so distant future you may be kicking yourself in the pants for not getting over your own arrogance.
I’m not questioning Alex Jones’s right to say anything he wants, nor am I questioning Rand Paul’s right to throw in with him. I’m simply expressing my own view about both of them.
By the way, if there’s a corporation whose say-so I require to publish The North Star National, I’d love to know who it is.
You’re right, Dan, any ideology taken to the extreme is bad. But why signal out only Rand Paul’s ideology. What about Obama’s ideology. Let’s take that the extreme and what do you get
We get an opaque leadership that governs through executive orders and rams legislature through the congress as if the office of the presidency was over the congress as opposed to being on par with it.
We get a budget deficit that is tripled what it was when Obama came into office and that is only in his first year as president.
We get a future for our grandkids that appears bleak and destitute because the traditional government in office is determined to print and send money that we don’t have.
Rand Paul and his dark side of conspiracy theories sure seem a lot brighter than Obama and his dark side of overspending and overreaching government policies.
We need more of Rand Paul.
What utter rubbish. He was just on with Maddow, does that mean he endorses all of HER views? He was on with Good Morning America. Does it mean he endorses THAT show’s views? He doesn’t endorse the views of the shows he goes on, he goes on to get his opinions on the air where people can hear them.
This is sheer nonsense.
It’s clear you are in bed and under the bed you hypocrite with the globalists we are waking up. Quit trying to put people back to sleep. it won’t work. You will burn in hell with NWO. you chose your side coward BOY
Dan Calabrese needs to watch a few of Alex Jones’ videos and maybe he’ll learn something about the real world. Dan, check out The Georgia Guidestones and open your eyes. The elite want to kill you, right along with the other 5.5 billion people on this planet!!!
Let`s stick with the establishment politicians from the democrats and republicans.I feel real safe and sound with those people.Watching them sell America down the road to lobbyists from wall street to the bankers to the military industrial complex makes me feel were in good hands.
The minute good people with courage show up to try to counter this, they get painted as tin foil hat wearing kooks.
America is going down the drain and it`s people like you that are helping it`s demise.
Let me suggest your readers google “Operation Mockingbird” It`s a little story about the CIA owning much the media going back to the end of WW2.
More people listen to Alex Jones than watch Meet the Press–Paul goes where the people are who are actually awake.
I’m not much of an Alex Jones fan or a Rand Paul fan, but let me tell you, you need to open your eyes to what is really going on. You and others are the reason we are heading to a NWO/one world government, you won’t open your eyes to reality, and you won’t be able to save yourself or anyone else when it’s here. We need people to wake up NOW, so that we might have a chance to stop this, but the majority of people are like you Dan, can’t see the forest for the trees.
Rand Paul is clearly most comfortable talking with extremists Rachel Maddow asked simple question after simple question, to be answered with “That’s interesting, blah blah blah blah. Rand Paul failed to answer a single question, even with Maddow pointing out she only wanted a “yes” or a “no”. If I ask someone whether or not it’s raining, and they begin with “That’s an interesting question”, I walk away to find another person. He can’t possibly be serious about his senate run.
Nowhere in his video does Alex Jones state or imply that global governance forces will result in an attack on 90% of the world’s population. This is what happens when you assume a Youtube video is properly titled instead of actually watching it. Jones references someone who would like to do that, but never implies that this had any possibility of coming about. I’m not an Alex Jones fan; this is the first I’ve heard of him, and he sounds kinda crazy, but not that crazy.
Dan, I think you need to do much more reading and research to find out what is happening to your country. You seem to be clueless about just how bad things are, and then you pretend to know about Rand Paul’s ideas which you also know nothing about and are twisting.
I think it’s time you joined the Americans who are trying to help save your country, instead of working with those who are trying to destroy it. You and your family will be affected also, if you stay on the wrong side!
Yeah America is not sliding into a police state. Police thugs totally CANNOT shoot you for no reason on the street.
Didn’t Sarah Palin endorse Rand Paul for Senate?
So, if Rand is to be branded a “lunatic” or “kook” for what amounts to “guilt by association” for a 10-minute Alex Jones interview, then someone (ahem! Sarah Palin) who actually comes out and *endorses* Rand Paul to get elected must also be a “lunatic” and a “kook”.
That is, if one were to be logical and consistent in one’s arguments.
I am confused so you think the American media and shows like meet the press are still credible? Are you for real. As to comments about the Globalists wanting to depopulate the earth by 90% you doubt what? The depopulation agenda or the 90% level of the depopulation program? We have billions of Abortions (world wide) radically low birth rates in Europe and America with wide spread use of birth control let us not forget China’s one Child policy & forced abortion policy and the Wars in Iraq ( 1 million dead). Let’s not forget the UN “family planning health services” with Forcing or tricking women into being sterilized in Africa, Haiti and other parts of the world. No no no you are right Globalization is just wonderful Alex Jones may come off like a nut (rightfully so killing humans is bad you are a human) I dare you to take on the information he puts out just the facts not the Alex’s personality. If you stick to the facts he would crush you in a debate. I am not happy about that by the way but yes Alex Jones is 100 times more credible than meet the press (lol) Meet the Press lol!!!!!!!!!
Dan Calabrese, like so many others, still can’t grasp the fact that the two-party system is what is the chronic root of the problem now. He and the rest of the GOP-supporting columnists here love to talk about how this November, their candidates are going to “take back all these seats”… oh, they’ll “show” Obama and the Dems!
It’s a joke. It ignores the blatant evidential truth that regardless if the pendulum swings back to the other major party, nothing is really going to change. It never does. George W. Bush and a Republican-controlled congress doubled our national debt. Aside from a few of the social issues (driven by the fundamentalist wing of the GOP), there is virtually zero difference between the Repubs and the Dems.
There are two chief reasons why Dan Calabrese calls the Pauls “lunatics” or “kooks” –
1. They don’t support funneling trillions of borrowed-monies into two never-ending, essentially “unwinnable” (in the traditional sense) conventional “wars” on ideologies. As a (self-professed) neoconservative bent on U.S. hegemony throughout the world, Dan Calabrese will complain about any and all govt. spending, except when it comes to nation-building exercises in the Middle East. That futile effort is perfectly alright to bankrupt the country over via issuing more unsustainable debt to Red China.
2. The Pauls are also consistently, steadfastly opposed to govt. bailouts of the corporate sector (read: Wall Street). Dan Calabrese is perfectly fine with bailing out Wall Street, under the dishonest rationalization that it’s not their fault, “the govt. made them do it.” Yes, the U.S. govt. designed all those fancy, complicated, chopped-up, repackaged financial instruments – and after the govt. invented them, it “forced” the financial markets to trade them on a completely unregulated market to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars of profits for the financial institutions and their top executives. Indeed, Dan Calabrese is only opposed to govt. bailouts of the private sector if it’s Democrats who are the ones in control and doing it. i.e., TARP = “good”. Bailing out GM/Chrysler = “bad”. And let’s not even talk about the boondoggle that Halliburton (the only real “winner” in the wars so far) has perpetrated upon the American taxpayers. Billions of dollars unaccounted for. But it’s okay. It’s Halliburton. Again, corporate America (especially Big Oil), except for GM = “good”.
These are the two main reasons why Dan Calabrese still supports the broken two-party system, on the side of the GOP. Dan Calabrese *wants* the corporate (and war-machine) interests – who are, in effect, the very entities that stand the most to gain from “big government” – to continue to run this country, because he himself is all about big government. As long as it’s GOP big-government in power.
A legitimate third party coming into power might disrupt all of that.
Sarah Palin was wrong to endorse Rand Paul.
And anyone who thinks I find the mainstream media credible needs to read more of my work.
By the way, Chica, since you like to bring up “consistency,” let’s talk about that. I am not opposed to all federal spending. I am opposed to federal spending that is foolish and outside the proper scope of government.
I am capable of making distinctions between two things and recognizing that some make sense and some do not.
You are not.
I supported the original concept of TARP because the federal government buying up and holding the toxic mortgages was a better idea than letting the entire financial system collapse.
I did not support the actual implementation of TARP, and I certainly didn’t support using TARP funds (or any other funds, for that matter) to prop up the suicidal business practices of GM and Chrysler.
To this, you say, “Inconsistent hypocrite! You’re in favor of one thing but not the other!”
To you, I reply, “Idiot. You are not smart enough to assess situations on their merits, so you fall in with a demagogue who makes you feel good about your intellectual vacuousness.”
Besides, no matter how many fake names you try to use, I always know who you are.
yeah. alex jones in bed…touching you. snuggling with you. eskimo kisses with you. we don’t need freedom, or freedom to go on talk shows, or freedom to go to an anti-semitic black nationalist church for 20 years. we need statism, we need conway! he’s the best manchurian candidate we have.
last thing i’ve gone to a gay bar, does that make me gay? what’s with liberals and freedom of association. if i only talked to people who agreed with me i’d have no friends. writer lives in a world where the thought police hover around us. a world where they take away our salt.
i love salt, really do.
For someone who has such strong opinions about certain people there is an amazing lack of any facts to back up any of those opinions.
It’d be nice if just once a negative article about Rand Paul could refrain from using guilt by association and instead use facts or reason. I guess that is too much to ask.
What’s the matter, puppy – don’t like libertarians? Rather have a government gun shoved in peoples’ faces to make them do the P.C. thing? Ha! Great seeing the cat (Rand Paul) set among the pigeons (thee and thine).
Er… got to bed with Dan Calabrese, wake up with a complete nugget that happily writes tripe.
Dan Calabrese said:

Dude, you’re a walking contradiction, and this is a perfect example of it. On the one hand, you constantly decry the so-called “liberal” mainstream media (it’s actually corporate in-fact, which you’ll never be able to legitimately refute, which is why you don’t even try, you just cling to the intellectually lazy, disingenuous rhetoric), discounting their credibility at every turn.
Now here, you disparage Rand Paul for choosing to opt out of an interview on Meet The Press, for reasons which you merely speculate about, but have zero proof for.
So which is it? If Meet The Press doesn’t have any credibility (and by logical extension of what you’ve stated here, it doesn’t), then why would you criticize Ron Paul for not appearing on the program? Someone else here has already exposed this inconsistency and you didn’t respond to their point either, so I fully expect you to do as you always do and simply avoid answering to the questions/points that expose your utter illogic.
Likewise, you made no attempt to refute my two major reasons for your irrational, zealous opposition to third-party libertarianism. Because you cannot. I am correct in my synopsis. Instead you bring up a Spanish name for “girl”, which has absolutely nothing to do with the topic at-hand. Wth??
Rand Paul’s only problem is that he isn’t an attractive, white, phony-religious MILF who holds millions of right-wing extremist males trapped in boring marriages fixated on the fantasy of being with them. If it were Sarah Palin refusing an interview on the “evil, Communist, anti-American-out-to-destroy-America” network called NBC, Dan Calabrese and the rest of her unconditional admirers would be cranking out columns here about what a true “American hero” (or “patriot”, etc) she is.
Listen…there should be no arguements between Sarah Palin and Rand Paul supporters. I’m on record now that all of us should write in Palin/Paul for POTUS and VP in 2012. You know the Republican Party establishment won’t have the cojones to put either of them on the ticket. Get all of your friends to write them in…that’s the only way we’ll get it done!
Im gitting realy mad! dans articles target audince is obviously people who have no logical idea of how serious of a problem there is, and his message is enforcing there false sense of security. and what do you know, google put this article as a top result.
one of the main things alex jones promotes is that “there is a war on for your mind”. dan did link to alexs youtube channel, but if you can call long distance numbers then please call the free alex jones radio list line 512-646-5000.
Dan:
You need to learn how to be a journalist. I’m embarrassed to share the same ethnic ancestry as you. This is yet another hit piece by the neo-cons.
Alex’s show , Dan Quayle, Rush Linbaugh, Gerald Celente and Bob Chapman are the only Journalists that tell the truth anymore!
Tell Dan Calabrese jealousy will get hinm nowhere!
Besides, the Alex Jones how is the fastes rising and on several stations accross America, people are catching on it tells it like it is as opposed to the bought off Rupert Murdoch and Fred Turner Lame stream Media!
Are you real, Dan?
I read your article, and I’ve got to tell ya, you sound like a parody of how ignorant the citizens of this country are.
If you want to talk about 9/11 (which you don’t)
Tell me about World Trade Center Building 7, and your feelings on that.
I would love to hear it. I know you’ll answer me because I believe you when you say you don’t find the mainstream media credible. How do you feel the media handled the collapsed of the 3rd skyscraper on 9/11 that wasn’t hit by a plane?
Thanks,
K
Rand should have turned the tables on Maddow and asked her why she’s biased towards the beef stick. I would’ve asked her repeatedly this question. Rachel you see me at the club and you’re hot/bothered, will you accept my beef stick? Why not Rachel, why not. Take my beef stick you lesbian.
Dan, Alex Jones is easy to dismiss as a “nut” or a “lunatic” or any of those thought terminating labels. We all tend to do that with anyone whose worldview drastically differs from our own. But do you know what’s not easy? I’ll tell you. It’s actually investigating all his claims and realizing he’s 80-90% correct, and we are all in some deep shit.
If you don’t see that global government is being set up right in front of everyone, and that it’s run for and by the corporate elite, international bankers and the super wealthy, then it’s you who need a reality check, dude.
LOL @ This failure of an article
Alex Jones is the real deal and what he says is based on documented facts
It’s sheep like this guy that just exposes who establishment or not
Good job exposing yourself
Alex Jones and The Truth movement is strong
Looks like YOU’RE the one who needs to wake up, DAN!!
Unless you’ve already been given a paycheck and an agenda.
Dan you will lose everything you love and care about because of your ignorance, you will probably end up in a mass grave or you will starve to death. The New World Order is gonna have its way with you boy! The chickens are coming home to roost

Facts and reason are of absolutely no interest to right-wing extremists. Dan Calabrese has already fled this particular blog thread. He can’t debate from a factual basis, so he’s off to pen his next irrational hit-piece on all non neo-cons (or his next ode to Caribou Barbie). That’s his m.o. – just run when he’s “not interested” in responding.
It is so easy to see why he unequivocably supports the Alaska Quitter. When the going gets tough – just check out. And then spin it as you actually taking the ‘high road’!
That he has the blatant, hypocritical gall to attempt to smear Rand Paul for not appearing on a mainstream media program (that he disparages at every turn) is the height of his irrational ideology. ’nuff said.
Dan Calabrese said: “I supported the original concept of TARP…… ”
Guess what buddy if something is not authorized in the constitution than your opinion is irrelevant. So i guess what you meant to say is “who cares about the constitution lets just do what ever we want…”
I have so enjoyed reading the comments. The article should renamed ‘Dan Calabrese gets owned’.
Dan, wake up and do some proper research or just go back to sleep (lonely bed by any chance?)
Dan Calabrese,
Sir you have proved yourself to be another media whore.
Thank you.
Dan Calabrese,
I guess I have a tinfoil hat. If you would like to prove how smart you are, I challenge you to an IQ test. Please email me. But being the coward and gatekeeper you are, you will be a pussy and not accept the challenge. Does your family know you are a pussy? I have never heard of this publication. Well good thing the mainstream is dying and you are desperate for attention. I cant wait to see you on the streets, cause nobody buys your lies. Funny after the Rand Paul attacks, his poll numbers went up. Keep doing what you are doing Dan. And keep being a dumbed down pussy.
You really are a moron aren’t you Dan? Yeah, globalists – what a crazy concept. There’s no such thing.
Fascism (the merger of corporations and government) nah, no such thing, it would never happen in America!! How crazy! Um, ever heard of Goldman Sachs and lobbyists?
9/11 was an inside job. What a crazy concept. Too bad there are so many professional architects, engineers, scientists and officials who also think 9/11 was an inside job.
Nah, just go watch Chris Matthews. Moron.
By Dan:
“I supported the original concept of TARP because the federal government buying up and holding the toxic mortgages was a better idea than letting the entire financial system collapse.”
Do you know how the federal reserve works? They print our currency and lend it to us at interest. It sends us in debt!! How would you support Tarp? Dan, I like how all the comments show the american public is waking up but you arent. Shows how out of touch you and the rest of the media are with americans.
Wake up, Dan! It’s hard to believe some folks still don’t think this is true. I don’t even call them conspiracy theories anymore, it’s just the truth. It’s all so blatantly in our faces today-how do you not believe? Don’t stick your head in the mud.
People all over are finally discovering who we are really ruled by, and what their plans for us consist of. That’s a good thing, but it’s also a scary thing. Because, the more they are exposed-the closer their public enforcement is.
There’s no stopping the New World Order. It’s prophecy that was written thousands of years ago. People just need to get themselves educated while the information is out there, so that they can be prepared for what’s in store. Having Jesus is the best preparation you can have. With Him, you can even have peace in a time like this!
Alex Jones provides a wealth of information for the people. He’s a brave man to publicly share his knowledge with us. God bless you, Alex!
I just stumbled on this site, wow those this Dan guy have any supporters…at all??
You’re getting demolished by….well, everyone here man!!
The Neo-cons/neo-Liberals are finished!
Dan, Thanks for the laugh. You’ve been royally pooped on. What’s the matter, lost for words?? LOL
Alex Jones is great at taking 30 second soundbites, sentences out of context, using lack of information and twisting words to mean anything but what they were originally intended to mean, and turning them into a conspiracy. Any politician has to be out of his mind to go on his show
Im going to say what everyone else have not said above, but i must say ,Your are truly well-informed.I cant believe how much of this I just wasnt aware of .Thank you for posting more information to this topic for everyone .Im truly thankful and really impressed.
I just signed up to your blogs rss feed. Will you post more on this subject?
