Right, Democrats, you’re getting ‘death threats’ . . . just like Roseanne Barr
Dan Calabrese
I realized something a few years back about “death threats,” at least the ones you hear about.
This epiphany occurred in the aftermath of the incident in which Roseanne Barr crapped all over the national anthem at a San Diego Padres game. Why they invited her to “sing” it, I will never know, but pigs do what they do, and after Ms. Barr screeched out the sort of rendition that would inspire you to gouge your ears out, she grabbed her crotch, spit and walked off the field to a deafening round of boos.

She was making it up just like you.
Knowing she had done something incredibly stupid, and having no excuse whatsoever, Ms. Barr claimed within days that she was receiving death threats.
Ah. Death threats. The last refuge of people who make interminable asses of themselves. It was the only way to make herself look like a sympathetic figure in the aftermath of her public display of douchebaggery.
I realized something that day. I realized that everyone – and I mean everyone – who publicly claims to be receiving death threats is lying. This is not to say there are no death threats. Of course there are. But the ones you hear about, claimed by people who just did something that royally piss everyone off, those are fiction.
What’s more, whenever someone claims to be receiving death threats, you know that they have already lost the battle for public opinion concerning whatever it is they have done, and they are now desperately looking for a way out.
That brings us to the Democrats, who just crammed socialist health care down the throats of an unambiguously opposed country, and now . . .
Well, have you ever cheated on your spouse? I haven’t, but here’s what I imagine it would be like: There’s someone tempting you so bad, she’s driving you crazy, and you know you shouldn’t, but all you can think about is having sex with her. You want it bad, really bad, so bad . . . and finally, one day, the opportunity presents itself, and you do it. You have sex with her, and it’s the most exhilarating thing you’ve ever experienced.
And one second later, you realize it’s all downhill from there. Now you have to deal with the fallout – trying to juggle the two women, trying to hide it from your wife, trying to explain to the mistress why it was just a one-time thing, praying to God she doesn’t go Glenn Close on you. You got what you wanted, and you’re never going to get a moment of peace again.
That’s what the Democrats did. They’ve been wanting to force socialist health care on this country since FDR, and now they’ve finally done it. Let your breathing slow. Light up a cigarette. What a feeling.
Uh oh.
Since there’s nowhere you can hide, you claim you’re getting threats. You are a poor, innocent victim. What, oh what, will you do? You know the mainstream media will buy this garbage hook, line and sinker – covering it in a way they would never have covered, say, the phony accounting you used to sell your health care bill.
But you’re making it up and you know it. Just like Roseanne Barr, you haven’t received any death threats . It’s simply the only way you can make yourself appear sympathetic after you just forced the country to bend over and take your socialist abomination where the sun doesn’t shine.
Death threats, my ass. Besides, we need you alive so you can deliver your concession speeches in November.

Websters New Collegiate Dictionary defines socialism as, “advocating collective or government ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods.” So what part of the health care system will the government own? Hospitals? No. Doctors practices? No Insurance companies? Nope. Pharmaceutical companies? No. Medical device makers? No. Hmmm, me thinks you don’t know what you’re talking about.
By the way, I’m really impressed. In the six days since the vote and the claimed death threats, spitting, and racial epithets, you have been able to invesitgate every single claim and find evidence that none are true. Where do you find the time? I’m sure you also investigated Eric Cantor’s claim of a bullet being fired through a window at his local office. Of course, that one is true. That’s the difficulty in arguing with conservatives. They state something as fact – no death threats, health care bill is socialism – without knowing what the real facts are.
I don’t have to investigate them. The mere fact that they publicly claimed the threats occurred proves they made it up.
Uh huh. Well since you have now “proven” that fact, what else is proven? The earth is flat??? The sun revolves around the earth?
In keeping with everything you’ve said here, there were never any death threats on George W. Bush during his presidency either. Those were all made up. It was an attempt to make himself appear sympathetic after he forced the country to bend over and take his war-mongering fascism where the sun doesn’t shine. He had lost the battle for public opinion where the unnecessary invasion of Iraq was concerened, and was desperately looking for a way out.
Good reminder of the lengths that tyrannists will go to attempt to maintain control over the masses.
Remind me of when George W. Bush ever publicly claimed to have received a death threat?
A president himself would never come out and publicly claim to have received a death threat.
You stated that “they” made it up, where the death threats against current Congresspersons are concerned. Once again, in keeping with your statements, “they” made it up, where the death threats against GWB were concerned.
It’s a logical continuation of your very definitive claim that “I mean everyone” …
Everyone is EVERYONE. Unless you are attempting a “Clintonesque” argument?
Craig Kinnear:
For political or religious extremists, the facts and the truth are whatever they “choose to believe”. It has nothing to do with reality. If they ‘claim’ it to be so, it is so. Their minds are steel traps.
We have men and women stationed overseas putting their lives on the line to try and defeat this sort of mentality. What irony.
Richard:
That is certainly the case with many conservatives. They begin whatever case they are trying to make by stating something as fact with no evidence to back it up, then base the rest of their argument on that “fact’. Lower taxes result in more jobs and a stronger economy; the market is always efficient and the best determinent of success; on and on.
Richard, the people I say are liars are people who publicly claims that death threats were made against them. If George W. Bush never made any such claim – and as far as I know, he never did – then he’s not an example of what I was talking about.
You’re free to your opinion on this matter Dan. But that’s all it remains, your opinion, since you have absolutely zero factual proof on which to claim it is “true”.
Craig, I wouldn’t paint it as “many conservatives” who are guilty of making up their own facts to suit their agendas. Again, it is political/partisan extremists who behave in such a manner. People who have liberal or conservative viewpoints (and all those in-between, who comprise most of the population btw) can possess plenty of intellectual honesty and truthfulness while arguing their particular politcal viewpoints. But extremists surely cannot. As evidenced by this article to which we have responded.
