Announcement from God: Global warming canceled on account of the weather
Mark Watson
Who says God doesn’t have a sense of humor? Clearly he does.
Last month’s global warming conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, was nearly canceled because of the record cold temperatures.

The Earth has a fever!
While Al Gore, Jr., insists that there is a consensus among scientists that man-made global warming is real, folks living north of the equator actually know that current temperatures are far below what they’ve been in the past quarter-century.
Just in case you missed it, forecasters assured the country that this would be a mild winter. These assurances came prior to winter actually arriving.
Consider the following weather-related events experienced this past week:
Temperatures in parts of Minnesota registered 40 degrees below zero.
Most of the eastern half of the United States is dealing with breathtakingly bitter cold temperatures not felt since 1985. As far south as Florida, residents are frantically dealing with frigidity as farmers scramble to salvage their citrus crops.
Meteorologists are now predicting that this winter will nearly mirror the intense cold of the 1977-1978 winter. As a second-year law student living across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, I witnessed the mighty Ohio River freeze solid. More than one silly soul was seen to actually walk across the Ohio that winter.
Several blizzards have blanketed areas in the country with feet of snow, not inches.
The harsh winter conditions are not confined to the country blamed for causing global warming.
The British Army was thrust into action to rescue more than 1,000 motorists stranded by blizzards Tuesday night.
Seoul, South Korea witnessed the heaviest snowfall in that country’s modern history as a winter storm dumped nearly a foot of snow earlier this week. Airports throughout the country cancelled flights as traffic in the country’s capital ground to a standstill.
Whether this frigid winter will cause Gore to rethink his apocalyptic warnings that the polar ice cap will melt in five years is questionable.
According to China’s National Meteorological Center, more snow fell in Beijing in a single day this January than at any time since 1951. Hundreds of flights from Beijing were canceled or delayed as a result. Over 300,000 people were assigned to clear snow in the capital with shovels, scrapers and brooms.
Beijing had its coldest morning in almost 40 years, and its biggest snowfall since 1951. Britain is suffering through its longest cold snap since 1981.
Temperatures across Texas are 15 to 20 degrees below normal.
The current cold snap is expected to last well into next week, according to the National Weather Service.
Of course so-called global warming experts claim that the frigid conditions do not disprove global warming. According to Gerald Meehl, an analyst with the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colo, “We’ll still have record cold temperatures. We’ll just have fewer of them.”

Do you actually understand how global warming works?
It’s a wind from Siberia, dude. Global warming theory predicts that we should have 1-2 degrees Farenheit warming now. Siberia is still supposed to be cold. Eastern Canada is warm right now because the wind pattern switched. The earth is still getting warmer — sometimes the oceans instead of the air, sometimes a place with less bloggers. Your endangering the next generation and can’t be bothered to think.
The on-going temperature decline trend was predicted.
All average global temperatures since 1895 are accurately predicted by a simple model using the first law of thermodynamics and the time-integral (same as ‘running total’ if time steps are equal) of sunspot count. The standard deviation of concurrent measured minus predicted temperatures since 1900 is 0.064 C. There was no need to consider any change to the level of CO2 or any other greenhouse gas. Climate change is natural.
The model, with an eye-opening graph, is presented in the October 16 pdf at http://climaterealists.com/index.php?tid=145&linkbox=true. (One of the discoveries made during this research was the effective sea surface temperature oscillation. The integral of the PDO Index http://jisao.washington.edu/pdo/PDO.latest indicates a substantial measure of sea surface temperatures, as does ENSO 3.4, but not all so replace all references to PDO with ESST for Effective Sea Surface Temperature).
This model predicted the ongoing temperature decline trend. None of the 20 or so models that the IPCC uses did.
I grow so tired of such simplistic arguments. Message from God…wake up. We have an accelerating extinction rate, a massive rate of deforestation and we are altering and warming the world’s climate. Pure and simple…unethical and immoral.
“Last month’s global warming conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, was nearly canceled because of the record cold temperatures.”
I live in Denmark and I can tell you that that is just bollocks…Where on earth did you get that from?!…Or is it just something you pulled out of your…? I presume you can provide us with a reference…a link or something?
The Global Warming Farce
So “chicken little” Al Gore has warned us of our upcoming doom from manmade Global Warming. We are led to believe we will soon fall off the edge of the earth into the pits of Hell if we don’t start using electric lawnmowers, and stop using those pesky road flares they’re claiming is putting all that rocket fuel into our water aquifers and consequently into our bloodstreams. I am not a scientist, nor am I a climatologist. I’m just a simple person leading a simple life. I am not, however, a follower blinded by propaganda, greed or deception, and that is precisely what this Global Warming concept has generated from.
As of this writing, this Winter, there are record snowfalls and record shattering frigid temperatures globally, from China, W. Korea, Seoul, The United Kingdom, Texas, Iowa, Massachusetts, British Columbia, Scotland, to Florida, and our “experts” have gone underground because apparently Hell is freezing over. And it appears to me that we have been duped by possibly one of the greatest hoaxes of all time, leaving the believers scratching their heads scrambling to find rationale where there is none.
I like Weatherman David’s take on it here, and agree that if we don’t laugh at this catastrophic deception, a lot of people might get awfully mad and lose an awful lot of money on this snake-oil concoction. You can fool some of the people some of the time, Al, but you can’t fool Mother Nature.
Hats off to Weatherman David, and thanks, Mother Nature, for hitting the mule between the eyes with a two by four this Winter.
Ice ages last for 100,000 years. Interglacial
(warming periods) last about 10,000 years. Right now we are at 10,500 and overdue for the plunge back into an ice age. Warm soda pop releases more CO2 than soda kept in the ice box. This is important because as the earths temperature increases more CO2 is released by the oceans. We did see an increase in global temperature until the year 2000 with a corresponding release of CO2. However now temperatures are plummeting downward because of the Milankovich cycle (earths tilt theory) and the diminished number of sunspots. There is always a lag in the re-absorption of the CO2 by the oceans when temperatures fall hence we see colder weather but not lower CO2 (yet). It is the changes in temperatures that govern CO2 – not the other way round. The real question here is are we seeing the increasingly bad winters of the last 3 years herald the start of a mini-ice age (like the Maunder Minimum spanning 1645 to 1715) or worse.
You are a complete fool. If you understood the wealth of data behind climate change science you would not make such ignorant statements. The concept of global warming is clearly too difficult for you to understand, so instead of publishing crap, I suggest you stick to something you know about. To put it simply for you, more energy inside any closed system leads including the earth leads to a greater frequency of extreme events. Besides this, the assessment that the earth on average is warming centuries of accumulated data independent analysed by thousands of expert scientists – not an individual like like yourself who one day decides it’s cold so therefore global warming must be false. You should have some respect for your children and grandchildren and future generations and apply so logic to your argument. Otherwise, stick to your bible quotes, and keep your ridiculous opinions to yourself.
Wow! Quite a few VERY strong opinions on the subject. The earth is a very big place. Once you spend 11 hours traveling across one of our oceans it’s hard to think that pollution and gases could really affect the climate that much. It’s great that everyone is going green, really it is.
This problem will fix itself me thinks. Gas will continue to become more expensive until it is close in line with micro-brewed gas like micro-brew liquors. I saw a Formula 1 car today that was fueled by chocolate oil and had several parts made from renewable materials.
I like the idea of stylistic fuels that can be small batched like corn and sugar. Plain and simple it always comes down to money. I’m currently traveling Asia. I’ve been traveling for 11 years and looking at this from a global perspective I can say that it’s mostly the United States that cares about saving the environment and finding better energy sources. Fits though because they are also one of the biggest consumers.
Global cooling was a pretty big deal before…will be interesting to see how people take it when that comes back around. Statistics will be our only way to really tell in the future.
Either way, I hopes we all survive.
How silly that Humans could be altering climate on Earth. I’ll file this one away in my file on how little green men have been hiding knowledge from us that we are supermen.
Thank you Mr. Republican and I hope you profit somehow from your bull manure fertilizing.
I’ve been saying this for years as I’ve watched weather prediction after weather prediction fall flat: I love how scientists can’t predict the upcoming season’s weather – heck, even the upcoming WEEK’s weather – with any reasonable amount of accuracy, yet they get their panties in a bunch that people are skeptical about their predictions of what the weather will look like in the next century.
God’s in His heaven and all’s right with the world.
@Stephen
“It’s a wind from Siberia, dude.”
Sorry dude, but the sun is at a all time low for sunspots right now. The low activity has caused us to go into a cooling period that might last another 10-20 years.
This is what has been discovered. In a series of groundbreaking scientific papers starting in 2002, Veizer, Shaviv, Carslaw, and most recently Svensmark et al., have collectively demonstrated that as the output of the sun varies, and with it, our star’s protective solar wind, varying amounts of galactic cosmic rays from deep space are able to enter our solar system and penetrate the Earth’s atmosphere. These cosmic rays enhance cloud formation which, overall, has a cooling effect on the planet. When the sun’s energy output is greater, not only does the Earth warm slightly due to direct solar heating, but the stronger solar wind generated during these “high sun” periods blocks many of the cosmic rays from entering our atmosphere. Cloud cover decreases and the Earth warms still more.
The opposite occurs when the sun is less bright. More cosmic rays are able to get through to Earth’s atmosphere, more clouds form, and the planet cools more than would otherwise be the case due to direct solar effects alone. This is precisely what happened from the middle of the 17th century into the early 18th century, when the solar energy input to our atmosphere, as indicated by the number of sunspots, was at a minimum and the planet was stuck in the Little Ice Age. These new findings suggest that changes in the output of the sun caused the most recent climate change. By comparison, CO2 variations show little correlation with our planet’s climate on long, medium and even short time scales.
@John F. Borowski
“I grow so tired of such simplistic arguments. We have an accelerating extinction rate, a massive rate of deforestation and we are altering and warming the world’s climate. Pure and simple”
For someone who is tired of simplistic arguments you are sure quick to put out a simplistic one. What does extinction have to do with the theory that an increase in co2 = a increase in heat?
Deforestation? I can see how this kind of relates to global warming, but that happens more in poor countries. Here in Canada we practice sustainable forest management. Check out this site. http://www.wrcla.org/cedar_benefits/sustainability_practices/default.htm
I agree that we are altering the planet but at what point in the history of the planet has the earth not been altered? She can do that herself in the from of volcanoes and earthquakes, or with help in the form of meteors.
As for warming the world’s climate, show me evidence that any part of that warming varies from past events in earths history or prove to me that any part of that warming was caused by humans. Prove to me AGW.

“To put it simply for you, more energy inside any closed system leads including the earth leads to a greater frequency of extreme events.”
Two problems with what you just stated.
1. Frequency of extreme events is at a all time low.

2. The earth as is related to energy is not a closed system.

I could be paddling a rowboat down Market Street in San Francisco after the poles have melted, and there will still be conservative fanatics who deny that humans are responsible for Global Warming or that it is even real. Please, read this article on this urgent issue: http://pltcldscsn.blogspot.com/2009/12/conservatives-still-deny-global-warming.htmlWar
@Kelly: I live in Odense on Funen…and your links doesn’t say anything about the conference being close to getting cancelled…neither do they say anything about the temperatures being “record cold”. We didn’t see record cold temperatures in December…not even close…!
As for the global warming debate…Say +95% of all cancer experts told you, you had lymph cancer and if you started treatment now, you could probably be cured…What would you do? Trust the majority of experts or go “Hey…They just say that to get to my money!”, and do nothing and hope for the best? Not many of us would just ignore these cancer experts advices.
Same thing with the climate and the global warming we experience…There’s an overwhelming amount of evidence that points to the fact, that the temperature rise we’ve experienced for the last 100 years, is a result anthropogenic CO2 output…Now we can trust the experts findings and do something, or ignore them and do nothing and just…hope for the best.
It is amazing to me and not so many others that just weeks before thousands of delegates, advocates and journalists descended on Copenhagen for a summit to mark international solidarity in combating global warming, a whistle blower quietly unloaded the largest bomb from the climate change skeptics’ arsenal.
A “hacker” published on the web private e-mails and documents of some of the biggest players in the global warming debate. These messages showcased prominent global warming scientists bragging about “tricks” used to hide recent declines in global temperatures; The purposeful deletion of correspondence to avoid any kind of oversight; and the collusion among global warming scientists to keep opposing skeptics silent.
In one full swoop, the Climategate whistleblower had uncovered the hidden truths behind global warming alarmism: deleted e-mails, hidden declines, inaccurate data, destroyed researched, the redefinition of peer-reviews for their own uses. Phil Jones has “temporarily stepped down” from his position at the CRU, and the United Nations has announced it will be investigating the validity of its own climate data. The story of Climategate exposes what goes on behind the scenes while Billions of dollars are on the line for policy decisions based on the findings of these scientists.
This all sounds like a Woodward-and-Bernstein-sized news story, but the reaction of the mainstream media suggested the whole thing came nowhere near priority news status, most of the world’s media simply ignored the news about the decades-old organized corruption and scientific crime reaching from the University of East Anglia all the way to the United Nations.
After acknowledging the validity of the explosive e-mails, the New York Times of course balked and said they would not be publishing any of the documents because they “appear to be acquired illegally and contain all manner of private information and statements that were never intended for the public eye.” This empty oath coming from the same paper that had previously published the highly classified top-secret Pentagon Papers less than 40 years ago and has since widely published information related to the intelligence community’s monitoring of terrorists and specific strategies for how the U.S. protects its troops in the field.
The story was largely ignored for weeks on television and resonated only with Internet surfers getting news from U.K. sources and bloggers who buzzed as they worked through the pages of data and e-mails. The budding scandal was completely invisible to these news networks, NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, and CNN. They had reported nothing on the story weeks after the whistle had been blown. The only News Network to report on it was FOX NEWS.
@Madsen.
Kelly can speak for him/herself, but what you present is a classic straw man argument. Your hypothetical implicitly assumes that GW, beyond being 95% certainly true, is a catastrophic situation that can only be mitigated with aggressive action. However, there is no 95% certainty available in today’s climate forecasts, and there is certainly no affirmative consensus of the appropriate treatment. If there is any consensus, it is from economists and political scientists when considering the current batch of policies put forth by the stars of Kyoto, Cop15, and every other income redistribution scheme. That consensus is overwhelmingly pessimistic of the success cap and trade, direct taxation, or direct command and control can have on the actual mitigation of temperature increase.
The GW debate has at least two dimensions, the scientific and geopolitical (which I assume includes policy). Most, if not all debaters are ill equipped to have credible footing on the former. The latter, however, is accessible to all, and should be debated by all. Since the big players and proponents of active policy are Western-style democracies, the citizenries should have a tuned ear to what their elected officials commit to in international agreements for they ultimately bear the consequences.
There is no “right” approach. Either extreme carries with it peril. Being governed by science and “experts” is not really much wiser, despite the temptation to think so, than a mob of insensitive cavemen. Since god doesn’t write text books for us to glean what “truth” is, we must choose for ourselves and realize the consequences, for good or bad. In the end, it is a cost-benefit analysis, and we can agree or not on the weights, but at least we should have a sound and objective methodology. Can you find one?
As a somewhat similar straw man hypothetical, I will assume, perhaps foolishly, that you opposed the Iraq War. By your very same arguments, you would have invaded, no? The CIA, MI5, German Intel, Russian Intel, all declared with confidence that Iraq had WMDs. Shouldn’t the US have, out of the fear of doing nothing, invaded?
When it’s someone’s own pet project, cost seems of no concern. I opposed the Iraq War on a cost-benefit analysis. I oppose GW policy, in its popular and pervasive form, for similar reasons. It ain’t worth it.
First…Mark Watsons article above is a product of ignorance. Mark believes that the harsh winter we are currently experiencing, somehow conflicts with GW…If Mark had done his research he’d known, that the temperatures we see are part of the negative phase of arctic oscillation…Every ten years or so we get a very harsh winter…this is normal and does not conflict with GW.
@Lee: University of East Anglea has addressed the things you’ve mentioned in your comment:
The “tricks used to hide the recent declines in global temperature” : http://www.uea.ac.uk/mac/comm/media/press/2009/nov/CRUupdate
All the allegations put forward in the so-called “Climagate” have been addressed…You can check it out for yourself at their website.
@Marc: Hi Mark…Good points! There is indeed not consensus as how to address the problem with GW. Only a very small fraction of experts questions wether GW is caused by human emissions…heck…Even the sceptic Bjørn Lomborg acknowledges GW being a result of human activities. The problem is indeed what to do about human induced GW.
As I see it, the unwillingness by some groups to accept e.g. taxation on CO2-emissions, “cap and trade” etc., as part of the solution to the problem, is not so much because these groups doesn’t believe it will work…They feel these steps will limit their freedom to expand businesses and profits.
I think we definitely should do whatever possible to limit human CO2 emission as much as possible, but we should also invest heavily in research into alternative energy sources. GW or not…we will run out of fossile fuels in a foreseeable future, and we therefore desperately new sources of energy.
Regarding the intel from CIA, MI5 etc vs. scientists. I don’t see CIA, MI5 etc. as being entities seperated and independant from various governments interests…I’m 100 hundred procent sure the Bush government could get the reports they wanted.
Scientists are not always independent from political interests or governmental influences either, but the way the scientific research works in general, is that you publisise your findings in various peer-reviewed scientific journals for all to read, test, verify or disprove. Your methods are reviewed…your results…everything is scrutinized. What I’m trying to say is, that I don’t believe there somekind of hidden agenda from the scientific community…They’re not trying to limit trade, redestribute wealth or the like…They report their findings, and try to come up with solutions to the problem based on their research. It’s not their “pet project”…The greatest feat for any of the climate researchers would be disproving human induced GW…It would definitely make them a well-known name in the scientific community. Things is though, their research points toward human induced GW, and therefore this is what they report to the public.
(…Please disregard any poor grammar and the like…English is not my mother tongue)
Good job guys. All of you. Most no-warmers used big words and complete sentences. They also mostly abstained from personal attacks and glittering generalities. Most yes-warmers delivered emotional comments with baseless statements. Typical.
I’m gonna go read the next article and provide my opinions on global warming there. See you soon . . .
You dont understand how climate change works and you are clearly and idiot, but the headline is pretty funny I’ll give you that.
I love how the comment from ‘JOhn’ attacks the author’s intelligence while forgetting to include an apostrophe in the contraction of the words do and not.
Make up your mind!! Is it Global Warming or is it Global Climate change?
Its funny how the they don’t call it global “warming” anymore.
Remember Eco-Nut Ted Dansen from “Cheers” about 20 years ago with his commercial about the oceans??
Remember he said the oceans would be dead in 10 years due to climate change??
Guess what…….. HE LIED. Just like the rest of the enviro-whacko communists. Thanks to the leaked e-mails that PROVE they have been cooking the books for decades!!!
Great job!
