See Speaker Nancy. Speaker Nancy is head of the House. No, not the house where people live, Silly. Speaker Nancy is head of the House where Congressmen and Congresswomen work.

See the Congressmen and Congresswomen. Congressmen and Congresswomen are people Mommy and Daddy vote for to get the Government to do things that help everybody. Like keep America safe. And make traffic go faster. And make sure Mommy and Daddy have jobs. And keep people healthy. Good Congressmen and Congresswomen!

But Congressmen and Congresswomen mostly end up getting Mommy and Daddy to pay a lot of money to the Government. Congressmen and Congresswomen then use the money to do things to get other mommies and daddies to vote for them again. Bad Congressmen and Congresswomen! 

Speaker Nancy wants the Congressmen and Congresswomen in the House to vote for Health Care Reform. You remember what Health Care is. Health Care is when you go to a doctor and get a shot. Ouch! I still hate getting shots.

I think Secretary Kathleen hates getting shots, too. Secretary Kathleen is supposed to get shots to doctors to stop people from getting sick with the swine flu. The doctors want to give Grandpa and Grandma and little children shots so that they do not get sick with the swine flu.

But Secretary Kathleen is so busy helping Speaker Nancy with Health Care Reform that she does not get shots to the doctors. Now, nobody can get the shots. Hooray, Secretary Kathleen!

Oh, I forgot. We are talking about Health Care Reform. Reform is where you make something better. Speaker Nancy wants to make Health Care better by spending even more of Mommy’s and Daddy’s money so the Government can give other people shots and other Health Care. Speaker Nancy must not know that Secretary Kathleen is also part of the Government and is not getting people shots.

Speaker Nancy wants to make Health Care better by making Health Care cost much more for everybody not getting it from the government. Speaker Nancy wants to make Health Care better by taking away Health Care from millions of mommies and daddies that their companies pay for. But Speaker Nancy especially wants to make Health Care better by telling Mommy and Daddy what kind of Health Care they can have.

And Speaker Nancy wants to make Health Care better by having the Government pay to stab, cut up or poison babies while they are still inside their mommies. Ouch! That is much worse than shots!

See Congressman Bart. Congressman Bart does not think that doing bad things to babies while they are still inside their mommies will make Health Care better. Congressman Bart tells Speaker Nancy that he and his Congressman and Congresswoman friends will not vote for Health Care Reform unless she takes that part out.  Good Congressman Bart!

See the Interest Groups. Pro-Life Interest Groups think it is more important to keep the Government from paying to hurt babies than it is to stop Health Care Reform altogether. Pro-Choice Interest Groups think nothing is more important than for the Government to pay to hurt babies. Silly Interest Groups!

Speaker Nancy thinks it is more important to tell Mommy and Daddy what Health Care they can have than to have the Government pay to hurt babies. So she takes that part out to make Congressman Bart and his friends and the Pro-Life Interest Groups happy.

Speaker Nancy also thinks that she can put the part about paying to hurt babies back in later and make the Pro-Choice Interest Groups happy. That is like when you tell Mommy you will clean your room but are crossing your fingers behind your back. Sneaky Speaker Nancy!

See Mommy and Daddy. Mommy and Daddy just want to keep their Health Care the way it is and for Health Care not to cost so much. And for you to get the swine flu shot! Ouch!

Will anyone listen to Mommy and Daddy? Maybe after November 2010. Meanwhile … ah – ah – ah – choo!
