Obama’s new rules of presidential etiquette

Bob Maistros

Bob Maistros

1.  When you are president of the United States and greeting foreign royalty, be sure to bow deeply and comically.  Ignore the facts that as head of a sovereign state, you are their peer and representing 300 million Americans; that as the highest official of the world’s first truly democratic republic, you are flouting two and a quarter centuries of protocol and tradition; and that as commander-in-chief of its most powerful nation, you are revealing both your inexperience and weakness to our friends and foes alike.

Change.

Change.

2.  When a classless, buffoonish, dictatorial strongman accosts you at an international gathering and thrusts an outrageous, insulting and specious piece of anti-American propaganda into your hands, be sure to greet him warmly like a long-lost brother and thereby encourage his globally condemned suppression of election procedures and human rights at home. And when another leftist dictator castigates America at the same gathering, be sure not only to give him a friendly shout-out but also to blame the imagined slights he has conjured up on your predecessors.

3.  While you’re at it, blame everything else on your predecessor, too. It’s easier and more fun than taking responsibility for your own actions.

4.  When dealing with other unrepentantly hostile regimes that are defiantly acting in direct contradiction to American interests, offer to “reset” relations, send your Secretary of State with a cheesy prop (and a bad translation) to signify your pliability, or indicate in advance that issues that are uncomfortable to them (i.e., human rights) are off the table.

5.  When violent terrorists from abroad organize the horrific slaughter of 3,000 innocent men, women and children and admit their guilt, make sure that their trial offers the opportunity to tie our entire legal system into knots and spew their hatred of America on the world’s biggest stage, while thrusting the city already twice victimized by their evil acts back into the crosshairs of global terror and into a security nightmare that could extend for years.

6.  On the other hand, be sure to break your security promises to your most loyal allies and pressure them to put the lives and well-being of their people at risk.

7.  Meanwhile, when political opponents at home disagree with you, accuse them of “scare tactics,” “scoring short-term political points,” “bickering,” “bogus claims” and “lies,” and mischaracterize their positions in the form of straw men you can then knock down. Offer them an open process, then join with your allies in Congress to ram through massive, paradigm-changing bills crafted behind closed doors – legislation that in many cases goes back on specific pledges you have made – and when they ask what right you have to do so, firmly respond, “I won.”

8.  When a cable news network gives equal weight to your opponents’ positions, trot out an underling to attack it as “opinion journalism masquerading as news,” operating as “the research arm or the communications arm” of the other party, and pointedly exclude them even as you pursue a round of interviews on other networks and arrange pool coverage for events.

9.  When a member of a local police department does his job, be sure to call him out for acting “stupidly” on national TV before you have all the facts.

In short, while attempting to callously suppress the interests of your friends abroad and real and imagined opponents at home, kowtow to the international community in general in ways that offer you not only global adulation but a better shot at winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

(Oops!  You already have one of those!  Well, there’s always the chance of being the first leader in history ever to haul in two.)

You hit the Obama on the head..

This guy is the absolute worst POTUS in the history of the United States..

But then he is not THE LEGAL POTUS because he is not a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN.

He was elected President… because he could be because… there is no CASE LAW that defines the Natural Law issue.

He used and abused the law and the Constitution to become President. He is without a doubt the biggest crook in our history.

He has lied all his life to accomplish his objectives… and while he is bi-racial… he made sure that he used his black heritage to receive all the benefits of Affirmative Action growing up.

Here is hoping that he can not sleep at night because HE KNOWS THAT HE IS A SHAM POTUS… and that ALLAH will not accept him into the kingdom…

  • Doug:

    You forgot one:
“10. When a treacherous, treasonous terrorist (who considers himself a “Soldier of Allah” and has questionable ties to radical Muslims) commits heinous acts of murder against men and women who have dedicated their lives to protecting your country, be sure to urge everyone not to rush to conclusions until all the evidence is examined. Contrary to number 9 above, in this case it is advisable to wait for all the evidence and investigations.”

  • katy the mean old lady:

Thank you! I’ve already shared this on Facebook.

  • Laura:

Can you imagine if any other President had reacted to a minority group that disagreed with his policies by calling them unAmerican and dismissing them the way Obama has done with the American citizens that spoke out against HCR and excessive taxes at town halls and Tea Parties? The Tea Party patriots need to sue him, Pelosi, Olberman and others for using hate speech. They are inciting violence against conseevatives.

  • Just a Guy:

Barack Obama is the worst President of the United States ever. He literally hates our country. And to all the people who elected him, please never vote again. You do not deserve this country.

  • Thanks, everyone, for your support… and especially Laura for posting this entry on Facebook. I appreciate your getting the word out.

  • Barb:

Great article and I’ll forward it to my friends for common sense reading.
Thanks for putting together his rules of diplomacy…

  • diane:

Obama hates this country and everything he does is carefully designed to weaken it. He has adopted the same plan as Osama bin Laden. Coincidence?

  • Steve:

I have never said this about any American president in my 50 years of life, but Obama makes me sick.

  • Vicki:

And people said that Obama didn’t have the experience to be president.

  • HB:

Great article! You really sum up Obama. I haven’t a clue how this man was able to get over half the country to vote for him as President. I didn’t even expect him to beat Hillary for the Democratic nomination much less win the election. To be honest I have really lost faith in the American people because of this election. It is both sad and scary that the voters in this country thought he would make a good President.

  • wonderful! so glad I followed the link here, bookmarked and I’ll be watching for your articles from now on. Just a really fantastic article. I hope America _does_ wake up and show this guy the door after rendering him impotent by taking his congressional majorities next year.

  • Revolt:

    HB,
Don’t lose faith in the American people. They are just upset as you and are joining forces to turn this around. Our country and the freedoms are what are at stake and we will not let this happen. Stand up for this also.

  • Leatherneck:

There were a few places were your punctuation was wrong.

  • Patriot:

Folks, the rule of law has been broken. The Constitution provides the citizens protection in this case by REMOVING the problem. This is a perfect example of a lawyer in power hell bent on looting and destroying the AMERICAN WAY OF LIFE!

  • LIES….
    that’s all he knows…
i made that statement resently, and was called a ‘racist’… my answer to that was, “i’m no racist. i hate the white have of his ass too”…..

This guy stole the election and he is doing everything that he can to destroy this wonderful country! He is a tyrant and an enemy to our world, except the muslims of course because he is one!

  • Renee:

Excellent article and a nice addendum by Doug. Mr. Maistros needs to be writing for major publications. This article was concise, well written, and factual.

As to Obama, this idiot-in-chief is vastly underqualified to be POTUS, heck he wasn’t even a very good senator. He doesn’t have a clue what he’s doing and his AG Holder is the same. The zero is still in full campaign mode and Holder should be booted out on his ear. Holder is supposed to be an attorney and he doesn’t seem to have a clue as to what holding the KSM trial in NY with a civilian court will do to trial precedent. May this type of election never happen again. Our freedom’s are too precious. I think that it needs to be a loooooong time before we elect Dems as the majority in the country…if ever again. They simply have proven that they cannot be trusted with so much power. The are acting like drunken sailors on a two day shore leave.

The results of 20 years of Obama as a “community activist/organizer”-he was lousy at that too. Obama is from the South Side of Chicago-Cesspool of Corruption Cook County, Illinois. ACORN fraud, SEIU fraud, more fraud yet to be discovered. No person can sustain this many lies forever.

    WOWSIE DOSIE

Which magnet of insanity brought all you kooks together?

Have you any original thought at all?

  • Ajp:

This is quite possibly the biggest collection of idiots on the internet. Obama is not trying to destroy America. He is not a Muslim (and it wouldn’t matter if he was because the seperation of church and state is designed to remove religion from politics…) and as for “Same policy as osama bin laden, coincidence?” comment – Obama is an American politician, not a religious extremist. There’s a bit of a difference.

Oh, and he was born in the united states, a country where a vast majority of people can trace their roots to other countries. So deal with it you uninformed, closed-minded little children.

  • Matt:

Funny how the negative responses to this subject only respond to the items that have some of the least amount of weight like — grammar — and — where he was born etc — and have AVOIDED the true original message.

I whole-heartedly agree that Obama portrays this nation as weak. There are some administrations that have demonstrated that we WILL NOT TOLERATE attacks on us at home or abroad. His appologetic approach to International relations makes us a much more appealing target. Opponents will see this as a sign that we are getting weary when in reality we are not. This will bring increased attacks in some degree.

When I first saw Obama at the Democratic Convention, before Bushs Second term, I knew from that moment they introduced him and applauded him ,for whatever reason, that he would be a great problem for our nation. He has not let me down in that image I had almost 5 years ago. I knew then and there that he would most likely be our president and that put me in a state of worry.

I pray that he makes the right decisions because like it or not he is our President. I only wish that he at the very least would stop appologizing to others for being The United States of America. Never appologize for being a great nation that defends what it believes in. If what we have is so terrible why do so many nations want the same freedoms we have? We may not have the PERFECT Democracy but damn-it it’s the best one this world has. Remember that if you had lived in another country this simple conversation would have earned you a bounty payable only in blood.

Do not take what you have in the USA for granted. Make your representatives aware of your wishes and ideas. Don’t wait for someone else to make them for you.

It is well-know that the Bush’s have deep, intimate ties to the Saudi Royal family. Did the above image of W EMBRACING the hand of the leader of the nation that has exported more terrorists across the globe (including 15 of the 19 hijackers) bother you as much as Obama bowing to the Japanese foreign leader did?

I am not an Obama supporter, but a U.S. president being customarily respectful of an ALLY foreign leader is hardly worthy of indignation. Is Saudi Arabia our ally? It’s definitely an “ally” of the Bush family, but can it legitimately be considered an ally of the United States? I know the answer to that question. My guess is that if you have any degree of intellectual honesty in you, you know it too.

My point is that you need to be CONSISTENT in your attitudes and what standards you hold POTUS’ to. Regardless of whether or not they have an “R” or a “D” next to their names.

Saudi Arabia’s schools teach a radical brand of extremist Islam to ALL its students, called Wahabbism. And George W. Bush not only did NOTHING about it, he cozied up to the leaders of a nation that not only perpetuates terrorism from an INSTITUTIONAL standpoint, but it also oppresses females. Sometimes brutally.

Shame on George W. Bush for not only doing nothing to address that, but for forging close, intimate ties with the leadership there, for mutually-profitable motivations. Disgusting. Absolutely.

  • Ginny:

Leatherneck: Punctuation is not everything in life.

Kelly: Don’t we get most of our oil from Saudi Arabia? I can see the benefits of staying on the good side of a supplier nation. If we anger them, they could easily remove our largest source of oil. Then we would have to drill up in Alaska, something the enviromentalists and tree-huggers would /never/ let us do. “It’s for the polar bears!”
    So be careful, please.
