I just got this from Congressman Peter Hoekstra of Michigan. The Obama Administration recently put out a report breaking down, by congressional district, how much stimulus money was spent and how many jobs were created in each of these districts as a result.

Stimulus!

Small problem. They’re claiming to have spent this money and created these jobs in congressional districts that don’t exist.

Michigan has only 15 congressional districts. But someone apparently forgot to tell the White House that. They claim the following stimulus spending and job creation, in the following Michigan districts:

00 Congressional District, 26 jobs, $880,855

16th Congressional District, 1.5 jobs, $465,898

21st Congressional District, 17 jobs, $810,000

22nd Congressional District, 0 jobs, $722,192

23rd Congressional District, 2 jobs, $214,843

28th Congressional District, 0 jobs, $418,186

31st Congressional District, 0 jobs, $1,650,890

37th Congressional District, 2 jobs, $11,933

60th Congressional District, 0 jobs, $56,328

83rd Congressional District, 1 job, $156,820

Good stuff. Of course, no state has a 60th or an 83rd congressional district, and needless to say no state has a “00 congressional district,” so I don’t know what those 26 jobs are supposed to be.

This kind of comedy speaks for itself. Aren’t you glad we exploded the deficit to spend that $787 billion? Are you starting to understand why it didn’t accomplish any of what they said it would?
