Well, this has the potential to get interesting.
Apparently, Americans for Limited Government sent out a fairly run-of-the-mill media alert calling for the defunding of ACORN. One of the recipients of the media alert was one Jane Stone, a producer at NBC’s Dateline. The sender of the e-mail was ALG’s Alex Rosenwald, although he was sending the e-mail on behalf of ALG’s president, Bill Wilson.
Oy.
At any rate, Ms. Stone received the e-mail on her Blackberry and was not too favorably inclined toward it, prompting her – according to ALG – to send Rosenwald the following reply:
“Bite me Jew boy!”
So! Guess she told him.
It appears that yet another member of the mainstream media has forgotten they no longer have a monopoly on information distribution vehicles. ALG printed out the e-mail, scanned it and posted the JPEG on their site.
And they didn’t stop there. Carter Clews, director of communications for ALG, contacted NBC news boss Steve Capus and spoke directly with him for 15 minutes. At first, Capus denied that Stone had sent an e-mail at all, but then changed his story to say, OK, yes she had sent an e-mail, but it didn’t say “Bite me Jew boy.”
NBC’s side of the story is that her reply said, “Take me off this list!”
There are two versions of the e-mail floating around, one that NBC provided to Politico that reads as Capus claims the original did. The other is being circulated by ALG and contains the anti-semitic rant.
Here’s what I’m having a hard time envisioning: Rosenwald receives an e-mail from Stone that says “Take me off this list!” – and believe me, as someone who sent out press releases for years, you get this all the time and it’s no big deal – and he or someone else at ALG said, “Hey, let’s change it so it says, ‘Bite me Jew boy!’ and then launch a public assault on NBC!
That would be a very easy thing to disprove simply by looking in Jane Stone’s sent items box, and probably in any number of other ways far beyond my technological comprehension.
But NBC’s defense of itself is that this is what ALG must have done. Does that sound plausible to you?

NBC is a despicable organization in just about every way I can think of. I stopped watching them many years ago. The sole exception was “Meet The Press” while anchored by Tim Russert. With his passing, NBC lost what was their last attachment to anything resembling respectability. May they die a quiet, ignoble death. And NO, no federal bailouts for the television news divisions or the print media either. Adios NBC…and get that damned peacock the hell out of my face!
Just followed the link to see the jpeg of the e-mail sent by Stone. Her e-mail address was included, which delighted me. That way, I was able to send “Miss Jane” a little message of my own.
It read “Bite me, you skanky whore!!! NBC SUCKS!!!”

I’ve received a number of FB messages from you guys re: this story and comment. Being new to NSN, I was unaware of your leftist bias. I did read the disgusting column by your own David Livingstone about the floods in Georgia; the fact that conservatives and Republicans there deserve to suffer and deserve no help from the government. This prompted a number of critical comments from myself and several others, to which Dave replied:

Not very professional either (right up there with NBC’s Jane Stone). You guys have some nerve to criticize me, all the while promoting and disseminating bile of the sort that David Livingstone seems to serve up in heaping helpings. The word “hypocrisy” comes to mind (among others).
There’s the “mainstream media” and then there’s also the “midget media”. I’m no fan of either. I thought I had found an interesting site where I could find interesting takes on the events of the day from a number of freelance writers. Clearly I was mistaken. The opinion I’ve seen here is by and large unworthy of even a failing high school newspaper. With so many sources to select from on the web, I believe I shall seek my information elsewhere in the future.

Yeah Dan. Have you actually READ any of David’s work? Aside from being juvenile and poorly written, it’s leftist hackery to the core.
I have also read more balanced work here, and some which could be rightly characterized as conservative. But evidently, only the readers who hold conservative views are subjected to personal invective by the writers and staff at NSN. It’s really too bad, but in the era of Obama-worship, I don’t suppose I should be surprised by much of anything.
It’s notable that a reader/commenter’s e-mail address must be submitted along with any remarks about a story. This is unnecessary; many sites allow commentary without requiring an e-mail address. The only conclusion that can be reached is that you guys want to have those addresses handy in order to report any feedback that isn’t to your liking. So go ahead NSN, report me to Obama at his whitehouse.gov site. That’s probably happened already anyway.
I see you also didn’t care to comment on your boy Livingstone. That by itself speaks volumes doesn’t it? Tells me all I need to know. Your readers are “douchebags”, but Diamond Dave is a “colleague” about whom no unkind word can be uttered. Nice job guys. I’m spreading the word about you all now. There are two kinds of people in this world…those who actually DO things, and those who simply are content to write about it. Welcome to irrelevancy and obscurity North Star National. At least you have a lot of company.
Undeniably imagine that which you stated. Your favorite reason seemed to be at the web the simplest thing to bear in mind of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed even as other people think about concerns that they plainly don’t recognise about.
